I was never one who would go out of my way to find indie acts.
I was never an audiophile.
Hell, I honestly don’t even know what good music is.
But during the most tumultuous nights in my life in which I felt that everything was against me, I had NU 107 to carry me through…
So that was really what my NU 107 experience was… Rage, tears and music… While curled up alone on top bed of a double decker in a room I shared with my brother… for hours everyday… going out only when my Dad was not around.
Years passed. I grew up. I’ve lived on.
I dreaded where mainstream Pinoy rock was heading — far from what I got used to during the late 90’s and early 2000’s.
I stopped the habit of tuning in to radio almost every night. Besides, technology has made it easy for me to keep my teenage years intact: on a portable music device.
But every now and then, I look back. I take a peek at what helped me be what I am today… Emotionally stronger while knowing that I always have NU to fall back on whenever I go through stormy weather again.
And now, this.
NU 107 no more.
It hurts. It really does.
